This course has allowed me to develop and refine my skills in several ways. During this course, I enhanced my understanding in the processes of drawing perspectives, experimentation of different drawing styles and media, creating abstract models, understanding of the processes involved in creating a stop-motion film which explores the spatial and abstract nature of architecture.
The way how each workshop affects the other was also quite interesting, as personally I found that having done Fluid Thoughts to Action beforehand, I was able to draw with greater confidence in the Architecture in Motion workshop. Therefore, the way in which skills gained from a workshop assists in another workshop was quite a significant element throughout the course.
Overall, Architectural Communications for me was a course which conveys how a variety of communicative methods are used not only in the field of architecture but across a whole range of professions. During this course, I undertook Architectural Drawing, Fluid Thoughts to Action and Architecture in Motion, which definitely has widened my understanding and views of the different methods of communicating a conceptual element of architecture. From the three workshops, I have gained an understanding of several communication skills and methods which I can further develop and experiment in my future studies and profession.
